Books – Ragnar Kjartansson. Me and My Mother
July 6~2010

Me and My Mother is a flipbook realized by Mousse Publishing in conjunction with the eponymous Ragnar Kjartansson exhibition at EX3 Contemporary Art Center in Florence. The book recreates two of the three videos in the project, dividing them into a sequence of images that gradually change from one page to the next, to highlight the three key elements in the work: the maternal figure, an apparently scornful action, and chronological spacing that underscores the inexorable flow of time. Köln – Wade Guyton at Museum Ludwing
July 6~2010

The giant format of the work that Wade Guyton has realized for his exhibition at Museum Ludwing, Köln, led him back to his artistic origins as a sculptor. The artist’s wall (above), formed by a series of canvas printed in black, in an abstract way, takes up the movement of the visitors. It is then not so unlikely to speak of the extremely long, printed bolts of canvas as “printer sculptures”: they redefine the space in which they hang, but they also redefine their medium.

This time the chosen artists are Emanuele Becheri and Riccado Benassi. The first, between June 19 and June 27, 2010, realized two works titled Impressione#8 (above) and Impressione#9, that will remain in the fortress of the castle alongside Flavio Favelli’s installation realized for the last edition.
