During its years life from 1976 to 1979, Destroy All Monsters Magazine was a truly extraordinary sort of house organ from the (quite legendary) band and collective of the same name, initially founded in 1973 by Mike Kelley, Cary Loren, Niagara, and Jim Shaw, then all art students. The material was derived by the members’ fascination and interest for music acts such as The Stooges and Nico, and for punk art tactics employing a psychedelic juxtaposition to create layered collages of different colours and imaginaries from the movies, art and music, with an abundance of drawings, photos and flyers by the member of the band. Original issues were printed using any papers and techniques available to the authors, which is the only thing missing in this fantastic facsimile edition that gathers for the first time all this exhilarating material.
