Condo in London 2017

Condo is a large-scale collaborative exhibition of international galleries. London galleries host the show by sharing their spaces with visiting galleries—either by co-curating an exhibition together, or dividing their galleries and allocating spaces.

Condo is partly about evaluating existing models, and also about pooling resources and acting communally to have a kind-of ‘festival’ of international exhibitions.  It proposes an environment that is more conducive/feasible for experimental gallery exhibitions to take place internationally, and promotes a slower way of looking than what we might have become accustomed to with art fairs and clogs.  This project aims for galleries and artists to be generous towards each other, and towards the audience and the city where it takes place.  Visiting galleries contribute to the cost of the party, maps and website, and London galleries contribute in kind by sharing their spaces and resources.
