Michele Chiossi “CARRARA IMPERIAL” at Vôtre Cultural Association, Carrara

Vôtre Cultural Association is pleased to announce that, in its new spaces for the contemporary arts  of Palazzo Del Medico in Carrara, on the occasion of the WCD, it will inaugurate the exhibition: CARRARA IMPERIAL, a solo show of Michele Chiossi. For this third exhibition in Carrara, where he made Carrara and, his white field protagonist, Michele Chiossi (Lucca 1970) presents a new cycle of sculptural works that find, in the marble, still the choice of a material particularly loved by the artist . The theme of the exhibition focuses on the aspect of Western culture and, on the period of decadence and cultural stalemate it is going through and, with the inevitable confrontation with other cultures, typical of emerging and developing countries. Chiossi, in fact, has always communicated and conveyed messages through its own Vanitas and contemporary Still Life that enclose symbols and allegories about the ways and customs of our time. In CARRARA IMPERIAL the allusion to the disintegration of our society is present in the works that, like contemporary “still lives”, manifest themselves as themes dear to the artist. Natural light and artificial light, the zigzag line, wax, flowers, and dots, everything is developed with the use of marble, through marble. Due to its historical nature, this precious metamorphic rock has always expressed the magnificence of time that represented through architecture, sculpture, making the spirit of an era eternal and unchanging. For this reason the artist has decided to want to make the marble protagonist also in this exhibition of his. There will be a nucleus of ten new works that will reflect the spirit of our contemporaneity, together with other recent and more historic ones, for a continuous dialogue through time and, marble, in connections between innovative aesthetics and the language of the sculptor.
