Milano – Federico Maddalozzo at MARS

In a space in Pasteur area, twenty young Italian artists met and started MARS, an artist run space with a schedule rich of performances, exhibitions and art events close to the most widespread self-managed realities in Europe.
In this context, ‘If you considered time as much as space’, the project recently exhibited by Federico Maddalozzo, presents nine front pages of the New York Times, completely covered with black paint. At the same time, four spray cans interact with two sculptural bases, experiencing a pressure which causes the continuous depletion of the paint until its exhaustion.
The objects converse with each other, speaking the spatial language of the capabilities of the place where they are located. The public is asked to consider time as much as space, instead of merely dwelling on the first interpretation offered to them.
