“Spring Exhibition” at Kunsthal Charlottenborg
The Spring Exhibition is an open, juried exhibition that has been an annual recurring event at Kunsthal Charlottenborg’s programme for 160 years. The Spring Exhibition is organized by Charlottenborg Fonden.
The Spring Exhibition 2017 presents artists from throughout the world. Many are from Denmark and Northern Europe, but artists from countries as Japan and USA are also behind some of the exhibited works from the fields of visual art, architecture and design.
As jury member Line Clausen Pedersen describes it in this year’s catalog, the art is still coveted as a free haven for human reflection and in recent years, not least an examination of the digital. The classical arts like drawing, painting and sculpture must give way to the digital, electronic, semi-religious and mystical themes, which will be represented at this year’s Spring Exhibition.
A total of 781 artists submitted works for The Spring Exhibition 2017. Of these, 61 were invited to show a total of 105 works.
